Two more album picks for Dead Weather week. Here are Itunes exclusive live EPs from Alison Mosshart's other band, The Kills.

Dead Weather week continues on the LMP with a plug for the Itunes exclusive EP titled "Live At Third Man Records West".  Obviously this comes highly recommended by me.

I'm not quite sure how I haven't posted this before, but if you ask me this is a Christmas album tailor made for this podcast.

If you are still looking for a Christmas gift for the live music fan in your life I highly recommend picking up Rodrigo y Gabriela's new album "Live in Japan". The duo never cease to amaze me with the energy and rhythm that are on display during this performance. Although it is available digitally, for this one you should buy the plastic version so you get the bonus DVD.

From now until tomorrow you can download Todd Snider's new album completely free.

Unfortunately for me I picked this up a couple weeks ago before I knew this.  However, he's the type of artist that I feel good about paying for his CDs.  He puts on great live shows and has an awesome taping policy so I probably owe him a few extra bucks for all the free live stuff I have listened to.

The album is only 8 tracks and includes a nice cover of Fortunate Son.  I would say that overall this is more of a die hard Todd Snider album rather than one for the masses but it's worth a listen.

Tristan Prettyman's second release entitled "Hello" came out recently and fully exceeded all of my expectations. A solid listen all the way through, instead of her sophmore release slumping it appears that she has had a sophmore sensation making her way to #2 on Itunes top 10 most downloaded albums. Amazingly the full album can be downloaded from Itunes for only $5.99 which makes it a sure bet if you are looking for somthing new to listen to!

I recently picked up the new Instant Karma: The Amnesty International Campaign to Save Darfur CD and was very pleased with my purchase. Not only is this a great CD to listen to, the proceeds go to help out the victims of the tragedy facing Darfur so you really can't go wrong buying this one.

This CD features covers of songs written by John Lennon performed by artists from many genres. While not all the tracks are guaranteed to float your boat, almost anyone is bound to find some favorites. Personally, I enjoyed U2 covering Instant Karma, Jack Johnson on Imagine, and Regina Spektor's take of Real Love. To be perfectly honest though, I can listen to both CDs without skipping any tracks.

sAlbum Griffin House is a new artist that I found with one of the those Itunes recommendedations when looking up Ray Lamontagne. That right there is reason enough to check out this CD, but beyond that I think that Griffin House a great artist and I think that, like Ray Lamontagne from about 2 years ago, he is about to get a lot more popular. You can listen to a lot of his music directly from his website. If you dig his style, I'd recommend buying "Lost & Found" below.
